Tourism Geography and Territorial Dynamics in the Adriatic–Ionian Region
In connection with REDETE 2026 Conference — Ancona, Italy · 9–10 September 2026
We invite chapter proposals for an edited volume provisionally entitled Tourism Geography and Territorial Dynamics in the Adriatic–Ionian Region, to be submitted to Springer.
The volume aims to advance scholarly understanding of how tourism both shapes and is shaped by territorial dynamics in the Adriatic–Ionian region and the Western Balkans. Positioned at the intersection of EU member states and accession countries, this region offers a unique laboratory for examining spatial transformations, regional development trajectories, and evolving governance frameworks under conditions of geopolitical and geo-economic change.
Building on discussions initiated at the REDETE Conference 2026, the book will bring together interdisciplinary contributions that address tourism as a driver of territorial restructuring, regional resilience, and cross-border integration.
